Microsoft announces Windows 10 release date
Microsoft has announced that their next version of Windows – Windows 10 will be available on July 29th as a free upgrade to all genuine customers running Windows 7 and 8.1.
Users will have one year to upgrade to Windows 10 for free. Once upgraded, Microsoft will provide free updates for life. You can upgrade by clicking the small Windows icon on the bottom right of your task bar to reserve your free copy and be notified when it launches.
Windows 10 will be the last version of Windows in its current form, after this release future updates will be released in an OS X style manner.
Windows 10 has many new features like Cortana (Siri-like voice assistant), multiple virtual desktops/workspaces, Xbox One to PC streaming, a new web browser called Microsoft Edge, four app snapping and great cross-device optimisation e.g. Windows Phones and Desktops, and of course the return of the Start Menu.
