Star Wars: The Force Awakens cast salaries revealed
10 years from now people will ask you, where were you on Dec. 18th the day Star Wars was officially back, a return that shows with Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The movie has already broken almost every box office record ever held has already made over an enormous $1.5 billion dollars worldwide. Some analysts suggest it might also top Avatar’s #1 spot. With all this success you have to wonder what the cast was paid for such a record breaking movie. New reports shed some light on how much the stars of Star Wars: The Force Awakens salaries were paid.
Reports are indicating that Harrison Ford was the highest paid star with his salary being somewhere in the eight-figure range to return as Han Solo. The amount was between $10-20 million.
Fellow co stars Mark Hamill & Carrie Fisher were reportedly paid in the “low seven figure range“. Interestingly enough Disney decided to create two pay scales for the returning characters and new characters. John Boyega and Daisy Ridley made somewhere in the six figure range around $100,000-300,000 with their salaries expected to increase for future films. Other newcomers like Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), and Oscar Issac (Poe Dameron) received offers in the “mid to-high-six figure range“.
Although it’s obvious Ford received alot more then everyone else it is fair to say that the other cast members will see an increase in there pay range in the upcoming installments. And with The Force Awakens still breaking records with no signs of stopping anytime soon it’s no question that they’ll keep dishing these movies out for years and years to come.
The next episode Star Wars VII will arrive on May 27 2017 with Rian Johnson taking over for JJ Abrams in directors chair, but is expected to pick up where Th Force Awakens left off.
Han Solo dies
I think it’s unfair that Mark Hamill got paid a large amount of money for such a short period!
very well written! ,i think it’s crazy that ford got so much more then carrie and hamill if anything hamill should have been the star
