Oculus VR are a firm known for their Virtual Reality technology that was brought to life by a Kickstarter campaign for their original Oculus Rift Developer Kit 1 VR headset. Rumours have it that their next big project, the Rift headset, is being prepared for its beta test that won’t just be aimed at developers, but the general public too, as up until now it has been recommended that only developers purchase the development kits as they are not ready for consumer use yet. Multiple sources that claim to have knowledge over the matter believe that Oculus will ship several devices in a limited batch by summer 2015.

The BBC has officially confirmed that iPlayer is to be released for the Xbox One by the end of this year.
It was widely speculated that the BBC was working on a version of iPlayer for the Xbox One as it was the only console missing support for it.
In a Q & A blog post, Marcus Parnwell (Executive Product Manager for the BBC) said:
“Q. You said Xbox One was coming soon – any update there?
A. Yes. I am happy to announce that we’re aiming to launch new BBC iPlayer on Xbox One by the end of this year.”

Nintendo has announced that it plans to launch a new gaming system that will target consumers in developing countries such as China and India. According to reports, the lower-cost console will be released in 2015 or 2016, which indicates that the company is just in the early stages of development.
Nintendo has been struggling financially, posting significant losses over the past three years. Much of the company’s financial hardship is the result of lacklustre sales of Wii U, which has sold a mere six million units since its launch in November 2012. In comparison, Sony’s PlayStation 4 has sold seven million units – yet has only been around for six months.
