Sony working to produce Marvel’s Venom movie

Sony Pictures is at it again, after years of almost making this film since the release of The Amazing Spider-Man, they have decided that the next movie from the Marvel universe will be a Spider-Man spin-off about Venom.

After Sony’s announcement last February that they will be rebooting the Spider-Man franchise in partnership with Marvel Studios, it seemed like there were no plans yet for the spin-offs like Venom and The Sinister Six.

Comic Book Movies – Stop the Reboots!

This films boasts poor dialogue and sloppy writing which hinders the development of the villains, which is one of the biggest flaws this film had. The only redeeming feature of the film is Garfield’s embodiment of Spider-Man. Unfortunately, even this cannot save the film from its confused nature.

The things [...]

Films in 2014 – Remakes, reboots and sequels

As with previous years, films in 2014 are teaming with sequels and various reboots and remakes. This isn’t a bad thing as long as they are handled well. This being said, sequels are notorious for being bad and therefore I am pessimistic about the quality of films in 2014. It will most definitely be a year which boasts advances in CGI and there will be blockbusters, but unfortunately this prevents the emergence of new original films.

February sees the release of ‘Robocop‘, a remake of the beloved sci-fi franchise. It’s peculiar release date of February is usually when not so great films are released and therefore I question if this film [...]
