The 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard arrived a few years ago and has become the new standard for long enough, it has found its way into everything except the cheapest phones and laptops. It’s going to stay as a mainstream standard for at least a couple more years, but just a few days ago, a new replacement appeared on the horizon.
Qualcomm has announced a pair of chips compatible with the new 802.11ax standard. The IPQ8074 is a quad-core 14nm SoC for wireless routers and enterprise access points, and it promises peak speeds of 4.8Gbps across eight 5GHz streams and four 2.4GHz streams, though that peak theoretical speed won’t necessarily be what you can expect to see from [...]

Given the recent dips in the number of mobile units that HTC has shipped, the company has quickly refocused all of its attention to the VR industry. At a developer conference in Shenzhen last year, HTC’s company sales President Chia-lin Chang had confirmed that they were working internally on a mobile VR solution, but had told the audience that it might be a while before we could get our hands on it. Apparently, the wait is almost over, and a product launch seems to be coming soon. More recently, in an interview with CNET, Chang confirmed the Vive Mobile will be compatible with the HTC Ultra U, [...]

A note was obtained by MacRumors from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo where he mentioned the iPhone 8 will use a more expensive stacked logic board design to allow Apple to use a 2,700mAh battery (comparable to the 5.5″ Plus models) in a 4.7″ form factor.

Announced last October, the OnePlus 3T is one of the best Android phones on the market. The Chinese producer is a small company when compared to other smartphone manufacturers, and originally started by selling only high-end smartphones.
However, they changed their direction in 2016 when they released two very similar phones within the space of six months. The more recent one is the 3T, which we’re talking about today. The design of the two is identical, but the performance of the 3T is far superior.
Aesthetically pleasing, in aluminium, well-detailed and easy to handle, the OnePlus 3T already gives a good impression. The display is a 5.5″ Optic AMOLED [...]
EA owned mobile games developer, Gameloft, has developed a reputation for making free mobile games with impressive graphics and limitless content. Known for popular titles such as Modern Combat and Dungeon Hunter, Gameloft has now released a sequel to their most popular game, Asphalt 8.
